5 Ways to Protect Your Skin from the Winter Blues!

It’s that time of the year when snow glistens on frosted trees, sparkling lights adorn buildings, scarves give you much needed warmth and the smell of freshly baked goods linger. It’s winter. Temperatures have dropped, days are shorter, it’s icy & harsh cold winds blow fiercely . Your skin feels every centimetre of winter(my knees too as a matter of fact!)

It’s now time for Winter Skincare! The colder temperature alongside low humidity causes dry air which draws moisture away from the skin. Leading to dull, dry, cracked, rough, itchy, and sensitive skin. With the change in temperature, our skincare needs to also change in order to help nourish, hydrate and protect our skin.

These 5 steps will help protect your skin from the harsh winter

1.Gently Exfoliate: The combination of cold air and indoor heating causes our skin to flake and dead skin cells form much more quickly . It is absolutely KEY that you exfoliate! The accumulation of dead skin cells will not allow your moisturizer/serums to absorb into the skin to give your skin the moisture it so desperately needs. This where Brighten Up! Exfoliator comes in! 99% Natural, formulated with 25% Grade Microderm Crystals for the most gentle and thorough exfoliation. It’s made with aloe(great for sensitive skin), papaya enzymes and coconut(leaves your skin soft and smooth). Add the Brighten Up! Exfoliator to your skincare routine 3-5 times/week(morning or night)!

2.Gentle Cleanser: A cleanser is meant to remove dirt & makeup from your pores however they can also remove much needed natural oils that keep your skin soft and supple. During the winter your skin can use all the moisture you can give it! So make sure your cleanser does NOT strip your skin. Detox Facial Cleanser is amazing for dry, dehydrated, aging skin. It is formulated with Grapeseed Extract, Detoxyl and Inca Inchi. And WITHOUT sulphates(they strip the skin of much needed moisture). These super ingredients work together to deep cleanse, hydrate and nourish the skin. Use daily to cleanse skin, morning & night.
